The Opera is happy to announce that the Opera Sales Centre (1061 Budapest, Hajós utca 13–15., near the Opera House) reopens and awaits customers again on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. starting with 1 July 2020 where the sales team is happy to assist customers in person again.
The programme of the 2020/2021 The French Muse Season will be published on the new website of the Opera on 17 August 2020.
The sale of tickets and subscriptions is also expected to begin on 17 August 2020. On the same, day the Opera is to announce – according to the current government regulations and technical requirements – whether the new season can start as of 1 September. If the epidemic does not allow for this, the management of the Opera will issue a statement on the first day of each month if performances can begin the following month.
Referring to an earlier statement by the Opera, due to the vis maior situation, the institute can refund tickets and subscriptions for cancelled performances mainly in the form of vouchers.
The issuing of the vouchers began through the Opera website as of 4 May 2020 and ends on 31 December 2020. Following the registration of already purchased tickets and subscriptions, customers get a voucher code that can be online (and as soon as it is possible, in person) until 30 June 2020. The new season programme allows customers to attend productions that were cancelled, but the vouchers are also valid when purchasing subscriptions or buying tickets to any other performances.
